CAPTAIN – MOVIE REVIEW

CAPTAIN is a sci-fi action movie that is written and directed by Shakti Soundarrajan. The film is distributed by Red Giant Movies.

CAPTAIN has a very neat and organized start. !5 minutes into the film comes a totally unwarranted romance and all of a sudden you realize the enemies are of a totally different kind. SS’s penchant for Hollywood films is well known and CAPTAIN is no different. The film proceeds at a languid pace with a plot that skates on thin ice. A lot of inconsistency in the screenplay mars the proceedings. Logical loopholes are galore and beyond a point it gets very predictable for comfort.

Arya looks and behaves like a hanged starched shirt. Simran doesn’t impress either. Aishwarya Lekshmi is seen for a few seconds. Harish Uthaman, Rekha Shetty and Bharat Raj are average.

Technically the film suffers due to very average VFX. Yuva’s cinematography is OK. D.Imam’s music is the saving grace. Editing is subpar. Dialogues are decent while direction is standard.

CAPTAIN fails due to a shoddy performance by the entire team.
