YAADHUM OORE YAAVARUM KELIR – MOVIE REVIEW

YAADHUM OORE YAAVARUM KELIR is an action drama film written and directed by Venkata Krishna Roghanth in his directorial debut. The film is produced by Chandaraa Arts. TFI has churned out many movies on the issue of Tamil refugees and most have faded without much noise. Venkata Krishna has attempted a different route on this issue by choosing not to sound divisive, melodramatic or controversial. Unfortunately he takes the entire first half to get to the crux of the story. The second half moves at a better pace, but still falters with its contrived writing and banal proceedings. The much hyped climax works despite the silly staging only because of the thought provoking monologue that kind of subverts all the misgivings thus far. Vijay Sethupathi is his usual self. Megha Akash does her bit to pep up the proceedings. Vivek(late) underplays.

Cinematography by Vetrivel Mahendran is functional. Prasanna’s background score is decent. The songs don’t work in the film though. Dialogues are OK. Editing is generous and direction standard.

YAADHUM OORE YAAVARUM KELIR just about passes muster !!
