Dhoomam, initially titled C10H14N2, is a suspense thriller film written and directed by Pawan Kumar. The film was produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films in their debut production in Malayalam cinema..
Pawan Kumar, known for his unconvention

al and distinctive films like “Lucia” and “U-turn,” returns with “Dhoomam,” maintaining his reputation as a filmmaker with unique ideas and intriguing plots. The film presents an intriguing setup and a fascinating plot, taking the audience on a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns that keep them engrossed, punctuated by intriguing anecdotes.”Dhoomam” sets its pace early on and maintains a consistent rhythm throughout. However, at times, the screenplay could have benefited from a faster pace to avoid moments of monotony, as the pendulum-like swinging of the plot can feel predictable. Nonetheless, the film intends to keep the viewers on their toes, and in that aspect, it succeeds. While the film unveils its direction after the interval, the climax lacks surprise, leaving little doubt as to where the story is heading. One aspect that falls short is the portrayal of the politician angle, which remains underdeveloped and lacks conviction. This loose end leaves a sense of dissatisfaction and missed potential.”Dhoomam” is a verbose film, which might not appeal to everyone, particularly in its dubbed versions. The excessive dialogue can sometimes detract from the overall impact of the film, requiring a certain level of patience from the viewers.Despite its flaws, “Dhoomam” showcases Pawan Kumar’s ability to craft intriguing narratives and maintain an engaging atmosphere. While it may not reach the heights of his previous works, it still offers a captivating experience for fans of his distinctive style and those intrigued by unconventional storytelling in Indian cinema.
Faahad Faasil is as brilliant as ever. Aparna Balamurali is the perfect foil. Roshan Mathew stands up to FF as well and their scenes together are wonderful. Achyuth Kumar is good and so is Vineeth.

Preeta Jayaram’s cinematography is neat. Poornachandra Tejaswi’s background score is minimal. The songs are OK. Dialogues are decent, Suresh Arumugam’s editing is crisp. Direction is good.

DHOOMAM is a must watch for its misses and flourishes !!!
