MISSION – CHAPTER 1 – MOVIE REVIEW

MISSION – CHAPTER 1 is an action thriller film directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Lyca Productions, Shri Shirdi Sai Movies, New March Fast Pictures and Aspen Film Production (P) Ltd. The film was officially announced in October 2022 under the title Achcham Enbadhu Illaiye, later however, the official title was announced as Mission: Chapter 1 – Achcham Enbadhu Illaiye in April 2023 after a production change.

Arun Vijay has a knack of picking some good scripts, especially these action thrillers and so there is a lot of expectation riding on this film considering that AL Vijay helms this project. The story begins in a rather underwhelming way for a film touted to be an action film. But then the similar yarn being spun can be heard few minutes into the film and from then on the film turns out to be a mass masala action film under the garb of an action thriller. There is nothing intelligent about the film and the screenplay is a dud as it makes a mockery of the situations and the way it is staged. The film is helped by its crisp presentation and a fine tone.

Sandeep K Vijay’s cinematography upgrades the bland writing. GV Prakash’s background score is loud. Dialogues are decent. Editing by Anthony works. Direction by Vijay is middling.
