Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is a monster film directed by Adam Wingard. Produced by Legendary Pictures, it is a sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and the fifth film in the MonsterVerse franchise. It is also the 38th film of the Godzilla franchise and the 13th film in the King Kong franchise.

The earlier 2021 film GODZILLA VS KONG was fun and had a lot of appealing moments. This 2024 film hardly impresses. What works in the film are the amazing visuals but at the same time the juvenile comedy sounds forced and would still not amaze a teenager. The parallel world is wonderfully staged but the lack of ingenuity in terms of action blocks is a letdown. The human in the film are left to play the sidekicks as the species take centre stage and they double up too. The exciting moments are far and few save for the kids who might lap all of it.

Rebeccal Hall and Biran Tyree are completely out of sync. Dan Stevens tries to be funny. The rest are just there.

Cinematography by Ben Seresin is inconsistent. Music by Tom Holkenborg and Antonio Di Lorio is average. CGI is good. Dialogues are very average and direction is standard.

GODZILLA X KONG strictly for G-K fans !!

GODZILLA X KONG – GORGE!!
