LAANDHAR is a crime thriller written and directed by Saji Saleem. The film is produced by M Cinema.

The film makes up for an interesting beginning if one can ignore the unimpressive romance and the duets. There is that one “quiz” that kind of holds the viewer’s interest in the movie for some time but even that gets diluted with the very unimpressive screenplay and the “over” performances of the actors. Some scenes are amusingly silly and the inefficiency of a police force is glaring but totally ridiculous. The reveal doesn’t help much and again the contrived and dumb flashback makes it more annoying. It is surprising how the censor board allowed a particular crime scene involving a child and the makers need to be questioned if the scene would not influence kids at home.

Vidharth looks a misfit in uniform. Swetha Dorathy, Vipin, Sahana Gowda are just about average.
Gnanasoundar’s cinematography is OK. Praveen’s music makes it interesting despite the lazy scenes. Editing by Jerome Allen is average. Dialogues are standard and direction is sedate.

LAANDHAR makes for labored viewing..
