SATTAM EN KAYIL – MOVIE REVIEW

SATTAM EN KAYIL is a suspense thriller written and directed by Chachi The movie is produced by Bharathwaj Muralikrishnan.

The film begins with a totally insensitive scene demoralising the doctors, especially when the medical fraternity is upset with the violence against them. As the movie slips into the crux of the plot we realise there are a lot of red herrings that the writer has injected to mislead the audience into believing who the killer is. But it is clear as daylight right from the beginning there could be only one and the reason for the deed too becomes very evident post interval. There are some neat moments with the politics within the police station. There are some moments that are a drag too, especially the song towards the end and the flashback.

Satish cannot emote and so the film suffers heavily because of his ineptitude. Paval Navageethan makes up for it with a very good performance. Ajay Raj is OK and Vidya Pradeep is adequate.

PG Muthiah’s cinematography is neat. MS Jones’s musical score is average. Dialogues are OK. Editing by Kathiresh is decent. Direction is standard.

SATTAM EN KAYIL is a below average fare !!
