Devara Movie Review: Action-Packed, but a Bit of a Mixed Bag
“Devara” is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and it delivers a good dose of entertainment, especially for action fans. The film kicks off with a bang, featuring the “Man of Masses” title card and a chilling stone inscription written in blood at the interval. The background score by Anirudh Ravichander is a major highlight, with the recurring “All hail the tiger” theme creating a powerful atmosphere.
The first half of the movie offers exactly what you’d expect from a commercial film—plenty of crowd-pleasing moments, big action sequences, and a fun mix of typical masala elements. It sets up the story well and keeps you engaged.
However, the second half doesn’t quite live up to the excitement of the first. It feels repetitive, with some old-school masala film vibes that might not click with everyone. The comedy doesn’t land as well, and the female lead feels underutilized, adding little to the overall story.
On the plus side, the film’s cinematography in the first half is impressive, and the final twist brings some excitement back into the narrative. The action sequences, while long, are well-staged and keep the energy high.
As for NTR, he carries the movie on his shoulders with his incredible performance, saving it from being just another average action flick.
Overall, if you’re in the mood for a fun, mindless action film with a great soundtrack and stunning visuals, “Devara” is definitely worth watching, even if it doesn’t hit every mark perfectly.
