Karthik Naren, known for his knack for crafting intriguing narratives, delivers NIRANGAL MOONDRU—a crime thriller that initially promises depth and innovation but ultimately stumbles under its own weight. Produced by K Karunamoorthy, the film struggles to sustain its early promise, leaving viewers with an uneven cinematic experience. At first glance, the film’s novel concept, layered characters, and symbolic use of color-coded personalities create intrigue. However, as the story unfolds, the screenplay starts losing its edge. The first half, while peppered with moments of excitement, suffers from pacing issues, dragging despite being only an hour long. By the second half, the cracks in the narrative become evident, with inconsistencies and underdeveloped elements derailing the momentum. A film that sets out to be clever is often undone by its lapses in logic, and NIRANGAL MOONDRU is no exception. While a few twists hit the mark, they aren’t enough to salvage the overall experience, leaving audiences underwhelmed by the end.

Atharva fits his role but isn’t given enough depth to truly shine. Rahman, in a subdued role, adds a touch of gravitas, while Sarath Kumar, as the police officer, operates within a predictable framework. Supporting actors like Dushyanth and Ammu Abhirami are functional but unremarkable.

Cinematography by Tijo Tomy is neat, providing a polished visual palette. Music by Jakes Bejoy uplifts some scenes but doesn’t leave a lasting impression. The editing, unfortunately, lacks sharpness, and the dialogues don’t carry the weight needed to elevate the narrative and direction is underwhelming.

NIRANGAL MOONDRU ultimately succumbs to a lack of cohesion and depth.
