Movie Review: Bazooka (2025)

Bazooka (2025) delivers a largely entertaining experience, especially for fans of Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty. The film, which promises action and intensity, stands out for its powerful performances and thrilling moments, particularly in the second half.

From the outset, Bazooka presents a compelling premise, but the execution falters slightly in the first half. The narrative feels sluggish, with a noticeable lack of grip in the storytelling. While the subject matter holds promise, the direction doesn’t fully capitalize on its potential. There’s a certain disconnect in the pacing and flow, making the first half feel underwhelming.

However, the second half brings in much-needed momentum. As the plot thickens, the story becomes more engaging, leading to a gripping final 20 minutes that elevates the film significantly. One of the standout moments is the sequence involving the title card — a pure fan-service moment that will undoubtedly delight Mammootty’s admirers.

Musically, the film hits the right notes. The background score and soundtrack contribute effectively to the overall mood, enhancing the cinematic experience.

But make no mistake — this is a Mammookka show all the way. Mammootty carries the film on his shoulders with a commanding performance, exuding charisma and intensity in every frame. Gautham Vasudev Menon (GVM) and the supporting cast also put in solid performances, but it’s clear that Mammootty is the driving force here.
