Vairamuthu produces this film that is written and directed by debutant Balaji Vairamuthu.

The film takes an unduly long time to establish itself. Forced character impressions and weak screenplay that is oblivious to the core plot makes for an uninteresting 40 minutes watch. It is post interval that the movie falls in place. A few flashback scenes again do not impress. The subtle messaging is lost without enough strength. Yes it has an intriguing premise that partly makes up for its flaws.

Santhosh, Ashwin, Sana, Seeman , Gokul all do a decent job as their characters are coated such. The rest of the star cast too do their parts without much fuss. Yuva’s cinematography works well in keeping the frames interesting.

Sundaramurthy’s back ground scores well in the film’s background as well as the songs that suit the template of the film. Dialogues are standard and direction for a debutant is satisfactory.

PANCHARAAKSHARAM at its best is an honest attempt..
