Ranbir Kapoor: He fills the role of Sanjay Dutt with spunk & gravitas. He delivers Sanjay Dutt’s nonchalance & swag in a very effortless manner.
Paresh Rawal: He portrayed the role of Sunil Dutt, a director, an actor & politician who stood stiffly throughout his life in promoting the need for communal harmony.
Dia Mirza: His wife Maanyata’s strong presence can be felt in the entire movie.
Manisha Koirala: As Nargis Dutt (Sanju’s mother), she has a small role, but the mother, father & the son trio scenes can move one to tears.
Story: Sanju delves into few of the very important chapters from Sanjay Dutt’s controversial & dramatic real life. The movie shows his addiction to drugs &his trials & difficulties in the Mumbai blasts of 1993 & the Arms Acts case.
Cinematography: Adaptable
Screenplay: Elaborate
Direction: Director Rajkumar Hirani portrays the real events for supporting the emotional appeal of the film, but he doesn’t let Sanju be just a cinematic justification for a movie star’s temperaments & his many indiscretions.
Sanju(2018): Sanju blends drama with humor effortlessly. Not revealing a lot about the relationships & marriages of the protagonists’, but the movie does present a robust story of a strong bonding between a son, father & a best friend.
