After watching Blast, I walked out of the theatre feeling entertained and satisfied. While the movie doesn’t try to reinvent Tamil cinema, it knows exactly what it wants to be—a commercial action entertainer packed with family emotions, intense fight sequences, and plenty of mass moments.
The story revolves around an ordinary family that suddenly finds itself caught in an extraordinary and dangerous situation. What begins as a simple family drama slowly transforms into a gripping action thriller. The screenplay keeps moving at a steady pace, ensuring there are very few dull moments.
Arjun Sarja is undoubtedly the backbone of the film. His screen presence remains as powerful as ever, and he carries the emotional as well as action-heavy scenes with ease. Watching him in action is a reminder of why he continues to enjoy a loyal fan base even after so many years in the industry.
One of the pleasant surprises of the film is Preity Mukhundhan. She is not just a supporting character but plays an important role in driving the story forward. Her confidence and energy add freshness to the film. Abhirami also delivers a memorable performance and shines in several emotional and action-packed moments.
The action sequences are among the biggest strengths of Blast. They are stylishly choreographed and designed to create a strong impact on the big screen. The background score further elevates these moments and keeps the audience engaged throughout.
