PATHAAN is an action thriller film written and directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Aditya Chopra. it is the fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, and is Khan’s comeback film since Zero.
PATHAAN begins similar to most spy action thrillers. Half an hour into the film there are very few surprises blame it on the overdose of Hollywood action films or the barrage on OTT. The audience play along as the writer Sidharth creates inspired and yet audacious set pieces that his team executes on the back of some good performances by the lead. We can’t help but also notice the director Sidharth’s templated frames and bonhomie between the lead pair that at times feels cliche. The first half is largely rudimentary while it’s the second half that works especially when the action scenes do justify to the laws of gravity. The romance is listless and thankfully as you expect in such films. The climax is an easy prediction. With Indian films keen on cinematic universes Siddharth has definitely run ahead with this film that is outlandish, energetic and powerful
Shah Rukh Khan is back to doing what he does the best, ENTERTAIN. John Abhram boldly holds fort. Deepika Padukone is largely adequate. Ashutosh Rana is good Dimple Kapadia is better
Cinematography by Satchith Paulose is fantastic. but the VFX is inconsistent. Background score by Ankit and Sanchit Balhara is intense. Songs by Vishal Shekar is good. Editing by Aarif Sheikh is fine. Dialogues work okay and direction by Sidharth Anand is neat.
PATHAAN is SRK in full form and a treat for his fans !!
