MINMINI is an emotional drama film written and directed by Halitha Shameem. The film is produced by Manoj Paramahamsa.

The movie begins decently as the students make the right kind of noise to keep the audience engaged. Though the entire school is all about one class and its students the film still manages to progress smoothy due to the characters in the film and their subtle yet strong variations. The twist comes very early in the film and a bold one at that, especially when most of the audience has taken liking to the particular character. Then on, in an interesting turn of events the film manages to keep pace and the audience invested. It is in the second half, though the Himalayan trials are eye catchy and impressive, the repetitive, monotonous narrative dampens the excitement as the audience is well aware of what the end would be. Hence the unnecessary long travel diary with some illogical explanations doesn’t quite cut it. The survivor guilt is the theme of the story, but the writer has found a neat way to unfold it without being preachy or sermonising. For the ones who do not necessary enjoy watching a Royal Enfield travel diary it might get a little tedious to enjoy, but for the ones who have done it or aspire for it, this might be a nice window to see on big screen the actual action there.

The actors have done a commendable job in the form of Pravin Kishore, Gaurav Kalai and Esther Anil.

Cinematography by Manoj Parmahamsa is good. Khatija Rahman, sister of the illustrious ARR handles the musical score and has given a decent output. She sticks to the confines of playing it safe. Dialogues are good and editing by Raymond Crasta could have been sharper in the second half. Direction by Halitha Shameem is neat.

MINMINI is a bold, convincing and decent effort !!

MINMINI – MINNAL !!
