VICKY KAUSHAL: Plays Major Vihaan Singh Shergil with a nuanced performance and his war cry “How is the Josh” with high pitched reply from his commandos “High Sir” will raise audience adrenal and give a thud to their feelings.
YAMI GAUTAM: Plays Pallavi a steely intelligence officer with perfection and brings sparks to Uri.
PARESH RAWAL: Plays effectively as chief of National Security agency.
STORY: The film starts in different chapters with the story unfolding a year before September 18, 2016 with attacks on unarmed Indian soldiers in Uri that leads up to the secret mission and the “surgical strikes” across LOC on militant dens across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The covert operation in retaliation finished the bunkers and killed 35-40 terrorists.
CINEMTOGRAPHY: Excellent
SCREENPLAY: Good
DIRECTION: Aditya Dhar’s directional debut in the film did justice to the unmatched sacrifice of the Indian army under all trying circumstances and sincerely made an honest attempt to project the true event on the celluloid remaining in ‘line of control’ or just about it.
URI (2019): Uri is a story of a man and the country on a mission. It’s a thrilling action-packed film with raw punch, bloodiness, thump and determination to wipe off the terrorists at any cost across LOC in POK displayed by Indian Army.
